There are two statutory requirements (or payroll taxes) for employers in Singapore as regards to their contribution per employee:
- Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributions, which are payable only to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Employers and employees contribute 17% and 20%, respectively, of ordinary monthly wages, up to an income ceiling of SGD 6,000.
- Skills Development Levy (SDL), which is payable for all employees, and is used to support workforce upgrading programmes, as well as provides training grants to employers.
Yes. As of 1 April 2016, all employers must issue itemised pay slips to employees covered by the Employment Act.
